I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and an even better Valentine's day! I had a rather adventurous weekend to say the least. I have always believed that a couple that plays together stays together so this Valentine's day we skipped the romantic dinner, cutesy cards, flowers and headed to Ellicottville for the day on Saturday. I've been dying to give skiing another go ahead.
I'm not exactly sure what I had in mind but it definitely wasn't the fun filled day I had expected it to be. I spent a majority of the day eating snow and probably letting out a few un-lady like choice words. It turns out that I'm not much a of a skier. I kind of felt horrible that my husband spent much of the day helping me out of the snow bank. My ego had had enough after about 3 attempts down the slope. Luckily for me, a few of our friends had a similar idea for how to celebrate their love for one another. I was able to redeem myself by sending my husband off with the boys while I sat nestled by the fire inside the lodge with a drink in hand. Even though the idea was a train wreck, Wade and I ended the evening sharing many laughs at my pitiful attempt at skiing.
Overall, I think the experience made a memory to remember just not exactly the memory I had in mind. Now, I know I'm much more graceful in stilettos than I will ever be on a pair of ski's.
